|  | With a travel budget stretched tighter than the straps of my backpack, I went on a month-long sabbatical and on an epic journey to the land of dreams and excess --- the US of A. I used my frequent flyer points to redeem a free airticket, made Expedia my new online best friend, earned enough frequent guest points to score free nights in some swanky hotels, and kept many friends who generously provided company, shelter and ride to a lonesome cowgirl like myself.
